I have had this since July and it is my EDC "go" bag. I have used 5.11, LA Police Gear and Maxpedition prior to this. I outgrew the 5.11 and the others were either too big and bulky or not big enough. None of them caried well and my shoulder hurt if I had to tote them any distance. This however has been great! No sore shoulder, plenty of room for kit and well laid out for easy use. I really like that the main and front pouch zippers come all the way to the bottom which makes access easy! The top carry handle is really nice for house to car to patrol car. I would like to have some more hook and loop real estate for swag patches. About as perfect pice of kit as could be desired!

I own or have tested all other sling packs in the category, and I love this First Tactical pack. The overall size seems perfect for a sling pack and its not too tactical looking, drawing attention. For me, the CCW compartment is perfect with size, concealment, and the clever bungee zipper-keeper. The CCW pocket has plenty of room for a full size sidearm and extra magazine. Five stars for design and execution. The integrated backboard-stay and optional/included compression straps set this pack apart.

I'm not a big user of smaller sling packs. I mostly use "briefcase" style bags but wanted a sling style for my collection. My first impression is First Tactical took some of the popular features of the larger packs and built them into this smaller unit. I use the eyeglass pocket for sunglasses and electronics to protect their finish and screen. The stitching and fit and finish were top notch and the bag appears to be top quality. Recommend.

Generally well made and well designed. Stitching neat and zips run smooth. Very comfortable and light to carry. Possibly overkill for a sling.

One annoying issue I've had so far is the mesh over the back cushioning panels seems very delicate. It appears to 'deform' permanently, leaving unsightly blemishes, if it contacts anything like a buckle or other uneven object. The bag actually arrived with a few marks on the mesh where it contacted the strap during transit. A slight passing 'grab' from some hook velcro later left another bunch of permanent marks.

I'd suggest an upgrade to the mesh used on the back panels, since I've never experienced this issue with mesh on other brands I use (Vanquest, Tenba and Direct Action mesh still look fine after years of use — you can delete the other brands in the review if you're sensitive about comparisons).

Time will tell how well the bag holds up overall.

I got an email asking if I received my order. I got it yesterday. Initial impressions are positive. Going to load it up today.
I like what I see so far. Coming from a person who has been through a good number of bags (5.11 moab, both versions, covrt zap6, milspec monkey adapt pack, vertx satchel utg sling pack.....I may have an addiction) there is some room for improvement.
1) Make the whole interior of the main compartment hook and loop compatible. Including the sides. Then horizontal organizer dividers can be used to keep gear in place.
2) Put a hanger and tubing pass through for hydration bladder in the compartment with the frame sheet. Having that option would be great.
3) Close off the waist strap opening. Your company doesn't offer a waist strap anyway. On a pack this size you shouldn't be loading in it with so much stuff that a waist strap is necessary. If so get a bigger two strap backpack.
4) Make concealed carry compartment all hook and loop.
5) Put attachment points for the included compression straps (thank you for that) in the main compartment. It would be nice to have an option to secure gear that way.
Overall this is a great looking pack. Laid out well. I plan I using this as my edc. With the improvements I've suggested I believe this would make this 4 star pack a 5 star pack

After being satisfied with owning a large tactical backpack for holding my laptop and for everyday general use, I decided to try the sling back for light use. This is my first time purchasing a First Tactical product, and I was impressed with its quality and style. I'm not a traditional user of tactical gear, but I appreciate the utility of the products.

Outstanding sling bag for EDC. Big enough to carry the basics but small enough so you don't overload it. The interior is contrasting light gray as compared to the black exterior, Obviously makes finding my equipment and gear easier. The construction is top notch. An unadvertised hidden pocket on the bottom. Highly adjustable.

Probably the best sling bag that I have ever owned. Smallish size EDC sling bag. The lay out is great and the interior contrasting light gray make finding my gear easy. Black items don't get lost because of the gray interior.
